Call for Application - SFG Grants for young scientists from under-represented countries:
The French Genetics Society (SFG) offers 4-5 Grants to young
scientists originating from under-represented countries to participate
to the International Congress on Transposable Elements in April 20-24,
2008 (at Saint-Malo, France).
The goals of this Grant program is to increase attendance of young
scientists from under-represented countries at the ICTE 2008 meeting
by providing Registration and Accommodation funds for those in
financial need and to increase diversity among meeting attendees. Ph.D
students are strongly encouraged to apply, as are postdocs, and
faculty members at the beginning of their careers.
It is required that applicants submit an abstract (for oral or poster
presentation), a short CV (1 page maximum), a letter of motivation and
a letter of recommendation.
Applications must be received by the Organizing Committee
(pierre.capy@legs.cnrs-gif.fr) by February 10, 2008.
Those applicants selected to receive a grant will be notified by the
end of February. Then, they will be asked to register online, without
having to pay Registration and Accommodation (from April 20, 05:00 pm
to April 24, 11:00 am); see what includes Registration fees in General
Information of the ICTE2008 webpage.
Please note:
- The Grant does not include travel expense of the awardees. The
awardees should confirm their participation by March 31, 2008.
- Should unforeseen events prevent an awardee from attending the
meeting, the awardee must notify Pierre Capy (pierre.capy@legs.cnrs-gif.fr) immediately so that another
applicant can use the award to attend the meeting.
For any further questions, please contact the Organizing Committee.
